Well this is pretty much the bike that will take me to Cape Town. Only a centre stand, new battery and new clutch cable to fit and we're readyto go.

Other modifications include: Acerbis 23l fuel tank, Metal Mule rack and paniers, Acerbis Rally Brush hand guards, CRD bash plate/sump guard, home made 12 volt cigarette lighter
for charging i-pod and camera, K&N washable air filter, inline fuel filters and a very very bad paint job!

I've done the following prep work: New DID chain and sprocket, new brake pads, new oil and oil filter, new accelerator cable.

Things I thought about doing but haven't:
  • Fit a wind shield- i still might do this, but i have not found one that will fit.
  • Replace rear wheel with an 18" one- Aparantly its hard to find 17" tryes in Africa.
  • Fit a tail rack. Useful but i don't think i'll need it and it's extra weight. The system works well enoughwith the Ortlieb Rack Pack.
  • Sort out my bodged paint job.
